BARCODE GARDEN / GUIDE
Barcode or QR: which one?
Choose for your data and your scanner.
Start with a barcode for internal codes
CODE 128 works for short ASCII identifiers such as SKUs, shelf locations, and order IDs. Enter exactly what the receiving system expects. A barcode represents data; it does not register inventory.
Use QR for links and Unicode
QR works for links and Unicode text. This tool encodes your content directly without a shortener or expiring redirect. Your scanner must support QR.
Retail identifiers have separate requirements
EAN-13 and UPC-A have fixed lengths and check digits. Use an assigned number. Generating an image does not grant ownership or register a product. GS1-128 differs from ordinary CODE 128 and is not supported here.
