When labels clip or do not scan

Check dimensions and clear space first.

Print at actual size

Open the PDF and use Actual size or 100%. Turn off Fit to page. Printer margins and feed tolerances may require adjustment. Test on plain paper before using label stock.

Smaller is not always better

Longer codes need more width. Forcing them into a small label can make scanning unreliable. Use a wider label or a shorter identifier allowed by your system. Do not crop the clear space beside the bars.

Verify with real equipment

PDF dimensions and software decoding do not replace real printer and scanner checks. Print a small sample and compare scanned text before a large run.
