Preserve your system’s exact value
Leading zeros, case, and hyphens in a location or SKU can be meaningful. This site does not silently change them. Use the scanner input test to compare received text against the original.
On screen or on a worksheet
Use focus view on a screen or print a scan worksheet. Some scanners cannot read displays, so test your device first. If another system receives the scan, this page cannot know whether it succeeded. Advance the list yourself.
Scanner Enter and Tab suffixes
Focus the dedicated field for a keyboard-style scanner. Enter compares and keeps focus in place. Tab compares while preserving normal focus movement. An Enter suffix is convenient for repeated tests.
